You have to be atleast 16 to participate in the pulls here, I have seen some 30-50 year old gentlemen that can't run a tractor any better than some kids. I guess it depends on each individual.

I started out on Garden tractors at 5 or so.....I started collecting Wheel Horses and still have a great number of them. I then began to run the SM in the field disking by myself...I moved on up the line and so on....I was always very careful when operating anything, I believe the only damage I did to anything was a barn door I smashed with a sticking out tractor axle(Knock on wood :-) )
