The organics work better on sprouting annual weeds, no control on established perannuals. I'd suspect you are on the right track with what you are planning on buying. It will kill any clovers or alfalfas you have which may be a negative. Talking it over with your extention advisor or the chemical applicator/ supplier is a good idea. Here in southern Minnesota the coops charge about $2 an acre if you buy the chemical from them, & about $4 an acre to have them use your chemicals. A neighbor would probably do it for about $3-4. But, there are the permit issues others raised. In MN those only apply to RUP (Restricted Use Pesticides) chemicals, 24-D could be applied by most anyone.
