Around here, it's $10 an acre just for the application, then whatever for the chemical. But New Jersey has very strict pesticide laws, and one would need to maintain an up-to-date license to spray even RoundUp. It's even worse for custom applicators here, as they are subject to a mess of spot inspections, clean-out regulations, update exams, storage inspections, etc. Gone are the days when a farmer with a sprayer could spray for his neighbors. A personal license limits me to my own fields. A commercial license costs too much, especially in time needed to keep every little thing compliant.
