Not all older diesels are hard to start, BTW. I owned a 1964 Massey Ferguson 65 diesel which started great down to 10 degrees. I kept it shedded which helps, too. I never tried to start it when it was any colder since I only used it in the winter to blade snow from my driveway. If you can find a Massey 50 or 65 diesel I'd recommend one. The gas models are good, too. The 50's and 65's run anywhere from $3500 to $6000 around here (Central Missouri). I now own a 2000 New Holland TN65S with loader. It is a diesel and I really like it, but I have noticed it starts just a bit harder than the MF 65 diesel in cold weather. Just my 2 cents worth......
