I agree with those that say to hold onto it. 4000s aren't real common compared to the other models of New Generation tractors, 4000 gas-burners are even more rare and 4000 gas powershifts are downright hard to find. I'll try to find some production numbers for you tonight, as I have a New Gen book at home. I would hold onto it, fix it up as required and generally try to protect it as the investment that it is. New Generation collecting is really taking off, as evidenced by the $25,000+ prices that have been paid for low-hour 4020s and the like lately. Your tractor is also very low-hour for it's age, and that figured in with the condition, will make it very collectible in the years to come, like JD70Jim said. It is well worth holding onto for another 5-10 years, or pass it down to a descendant you know will treasure it and take care of it.
