Hi Bill, What I did was give the daughter $1500 cash and said that was what she got. They could spend it however they wanted or keep what ever they didn't spend. Time it was over with I kicked in another $500 without her knowing. I did the same with the son. This kept me and the wife out of all the decisions and let them have what fun they could. They felt like they were more in control of the wedding that way. Daughters marriage lasted less than two years, Sons is going on 6yrs and still happy. Looking back I should have given $500 and spent $1500 on a CD, bond, etc; for the Grandkids. T_Bone
