I have run a 1560 Massey Baler with a 3020(70hp) John Deere and also my 530 John Deere Round baler with the 3020. I have run the 530 with a 4430 Deere(125hp) as well as with a 4020(95hp).
The 3020 did real good with the 530 but I did notice a big difference this year when I was able to get teh 4020. My reasons for running it with the 3020 was strickly out of need but it ran it fine, needed more power in hilly areas but other than that, it did ok. I would try to stay in teh 90 to 100hp range and try to get a cab tractor if possible. Its pure misery baling with the wind with a round baler behind you.!!!
I custom bale hay here in North central Texas.
