I have a 2000 quad 2wd with the 4.7 and auto, about 21K miles. The only trouble to date is that a sensor went out in the engine (briefly refused to start then check engine light on). Dealer replaced sensor, no further problem. Gas milage is pretty consistent with EPA ratings (15/20) but will go under 15 if in urban traffic. I'm considering replacing it as I may need 4wd; another Dakota would likely be my top choice.
