the Duramax trucks are giving problems now. Lots of them in the shop for problems. It will take time to work out the new truck bugs. I have a Dodge Cummins with the 6 speed manual. These things are bulletproof. At my Fire Department, we use Powerstroke ambulances and they go for years without any significant problem. Say no to gas trucks for heavy towing. Don't be lured by the cheap prices on gas trucks. The diesel will get twice the miles per gallon.
