Use your volt meter to check voltage drop on + side and - side. Place + lead on batt + post. Place meter - lead on starter + terminal. Should not be more than .3 volt while cranking. Now, place + lead on starter housing. Place meter - lead on battt-. While cranking should not read more than .3V. Battery voltage must not drop below 9.8 volts while cranking. Will the starter spin when off the engine?
