Another thing Roger, with you get that old gas start UD-9 diesel engine running. After you have run the engine and are done using the tractor switch back to gasoline and let it run the little tank empty till it dies from lack of fuel, this helps the engine cool down and helps burn off deposits in the cylinder, it keeps the cylinder head from getting cracked. And these heads are scarce. A quart to half a gallon of gas, should be all you need to start and cool down the engine, Being as they do start and switch over to diesel quite readily. Any more fuel than that and it will run for more than a half hour on that little gallon tank of gasoline. 10 to 15 minutes is usually enough time for the engine to cool sufficiently, I don't trust those old fuel shut off valves on those gas tanks they have a tendecy to leak fuel past the valve seat. Good luck! Big Iron Brian of Adeline,Illinois
