A power washer liberally applied to all available openings helps dislodge lots of stuff too. Just did this to a JD B we were working on and got a bucket of rust out! If you can't get to the openings in the block, dish washer (dry powder that goes in the diswasher - not the hand wash stufff) detergent, about 1/2 cup per treatment, will clean a lot of stuff out too. Fill the cooling system with clear water, and detergent. Run the tractor for a while - like maybe half a day, drain and repeat several times. When you get clean water out, run a couple more cycles without detergent, then put in proper amount of antifreeze.
