I haven't seen any comments on this, so many may not realize that the price on the receipt from a dealership is usually "bumped" 10% to cover inventory costs, freight, etc. Many dealers take 20%. But I've known dealers who bump a part 50% (or more) because "I never liked that guy". I know of one case where the dealer doubled the price and hoped that the guy never came back. Sometimes the price you pay has nothing to do with cost nor the mfg. suggested retail price. Or maybe the parts man is just trying to justify his existance to the boss. Many variables can affect the price.
