I'll bet you are using your "P" brake, only it may not be the cable. My"88" k1500 Locked one rear wheel one time. There is an arm in the drum, that gets stuck if you apply the "P" brake too hard with worn shoes(not the ones on your feet). Check the side that was NOT smoking the tire, you'll prob see where it occours. File grind as necessary.....Problem solved. Good luck
