Hydraulics primer

If any of you are new to hydraulic systems and
care to see a system where all the parts are
easily visible go down to your Home Depot (or
whatever) and take a look at a log splitter.

Everything is there in plain sight : engine,
hydraulic pump, spool control valve, cylinder
etc.

A few months ago I wouldn't have known what the
parts did or were called, but yesterday it was
kind of neat to recognize the different parts
and be able to see how the thing worked. I liked
the oil tank in the big frame cross member.

The only thing missing was a motor...
