At the very least, always request pictures. Awhile back, I put out a "wanted" add for a row crop 240 on this site. I recieved a reply and the man said it was a row crop 240 with a wide front end. I requested pictures and he sent them over the internet. The tractor was a utility 240. Don't know if the guy knew the difference between a utility and row crop.
