Duals are a relatively cheap way to gain a lot of traction- but if you are looking for traction, not just flotation, make sure you get some duals with a good percentage of the tread depth left. New rubber would give you the most, all depends how much you can spend. Sounds like you need four good tires on the ground, whether it's on one axle or two. I never do any tillage- primary or secondary- without duals, unless it's moldboard plowing. Better traction, uses less fuel, smoother ride. Only way to fully utilize the power you paid for in the two wheel drive tractor. Even added front duals to my MFWD this fall to cope with the extremely wet fields.
