Duals make a HUGE difference in traction. One thing a lot of people don't realize is that as soon as you loose traction, you lose power. Power is wasted when the wheels are slipping. What kind of tractor are you running? Do you have chloride in the rear tires? How about extra cast iron weights? Extra weight and duals are the key to traction on a 2 wheel drive tractor. We have a Case 2590 putting out around 225 horses which is 2 wheel drive with duals, chloride, and extra cast iron weights. Tire size is 20.8x38 radials. I feel that about 250 horsepower is close to the limit of power that can be put to the ground with a 2 wheel drive.
