Center link

I need to take out the old bracket that holds the center link on my Ford 3000, because the old owner broke it. There is what looks like a roll pin holding it on to the tractor. How do I get that pin out without breaking the housing on the tractor? I'm worried about using a hammer and breaking the housing on the rear end of the tractor.
