I bought a 94 with the 6.5 and I had to trade it off in 98. I couldn't keep it running. The engine itself seemed great--good power and economy--when the injection pump was working. When the dealer started having it parked at his place more than it was parked at mine, I gave up. The service manager explained it this way. Stanadyne (sp?) got the contract to build the pumps for GM, and even though they make fine mechanical injection pumps, they have alot to learn about electronic ones. After having mine rebuilt or replaced several times and starting to stay on the guy's back, he finally said, "Look. Nobody has a fix for these pumps and none are in the works. The best we could do is keep replacing or rebuilding your pump, but we can't guarantee how long it will last." That was in 98 and they may have a fix by now. I guess this wasn't really an opinion, just my experience. Hope it helps.
