Way back in the middle '50's Coleman tractors were used on the Air Force Bases I was at to tow B-47 type bombers. The airplanes could be very heavy after refueling, as much as 185,000 lbs. and the Colemans had their work cut out for them, but thanks to being pretty heavy themselves and having a good torque converter they could do the job. Most Colemans had a double seated truck-like cab very similar to Chevy or GMC trucks of that time and a big Hercules engine of how many cubic inches I have no idea. I doubt if they would make a very good agricultural tractor mainly because I don't think there is room enough for big ag-type traction tires to be fitted to them. Somehow I just can't see a Coleman pulling a 13 shank chisel plow up a hillside in Idaho or in the Black Swamp lands of Ohio.
