The Cockshutt 35 and the Blackhawk 35 were the same tractor I believe and were made by Cockshutt in '56 and '57. They were marketed in Canada with the Cockshutt banner and were Blackhawk's (with different decals) in the States. They were both a replacement for the Cockshutt 30. The 35's replaced the smaller Buda engine found on the 30's with Hercules engines of 198 cubic inches. The Blackhawk lineup also included the Blackhawk 20 (same as the Cockshutt 20) plus the 40 and 50 series which were the same as the Cockshutts of the same model numbers (including diesels).

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution. And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
