If you're close to the coast, you'll probably need a building engineered for hurricanes. Check with your county building department and find out what the local wind load requirements are before you go out for quotes. A friend of mine built a pole barn out your way, and it had to be much heavier than is typical. Think about doors at both ends to take advantage of the breeze. As you know, corrosion is a big problem on the coast. See what kind warranty they will make on the siding. You may want to go with a steel/wood building; these have steel trusses, but wood girts and purlins. A little cheaper than all steel, but you still get the headroom of steel.
