Funny thing is, with all the technology, pickups still only get around 20 mpg and cars get around 35 mpg. Dad's 57 Chevy 4 door with a 283 4 barrel and 3 speed with overdrive made 35 mpg! Mom's 2000 Taurus with 3.0L V6 barely makes 35mpg if we have a tail wind! Our 82 Dodge 3/4 ton w/318 4 barrel and 4 speed makes 18mpg. Dad's 98 Ford with 5.4L auto makes 14 usually, sometimes up to 17mpg. Just venting....
