Yup. Always match polarity. And don't try to jump it with a 12v if it has a 6v battery! (It is possible to jump it that way if you connect the 12v only to the starter, but that gets complicated & unsafe if you don't know what you are doing.)

Positive is always positive. Connect the positive charger cable to the positive pole of the battery.
