I just came in from taking off a 12.4x28 using the splitting maul and a 4lb hammer. It was easy to get the bead to break with two people. I held the maul and my 12yr'old grandson did the dirty work on the hammer. About 15 mintues to break both beads. Used crow bars for tire irons. Worked great.

The problem was the last guy didn't clean the rim rust and the tube stuck to the rim. They also didn't air the tube then let it deflate then refill and that caused a fold in the tube.
