I understand; it's frustrating and maddening at once. My wife had our new box painted/decorated with her favorite hobby-butterflies, it now is weak from straightening. I discovered from talking to my cousin (IN state cop) that using an immovable object for a mailbox post is considered creating a hazard and may open me up to a lawsuit(humph!). I was all set to install the butt of a line pole 4ft deep for a box post. I've seen unbreakable boxes sold receintly, Maybe that's the way to go.
