I've never messed with a Ferguson but I believe they are pretty similar to the Ford N series tractors. Best way to do it is pull the PTO shaft out and drop the hyd pump. Get the manual to see how the lift linkage connects to the pump!! Then you can get your hands inside and clean out the 40+ years of sludge and crud that accumulates in the bottom. I used a garden sprayer with diesel fuel and sprayed around inside and let it drain into a pan. Some folks put a few gals of diesel into the case and drive it around for a while. Then drain. Fill with fresh oil and you're good for a long time. As for the water, the most likely entry point into the tractor is from the rubber boot where the shift lever enters the tranny. Replace that while you are at it. Good luck
