Sorry to hear of your loss. Some of the tractors I have were previously owned by my great uncle. He was an interesting man that I was with almost everyday while I was growning up. I remember going to a neighboring dairy farm and getting the milk jugs filled right out of the tank in the milkhouse. I think the little memories like this are the ones that you remeber the longest. I personally dont get caught up in the color wars, if you look in our shed you find JD,IH,AC,Case,NH,Woods,New Idea and so on. I think every manufacture had at least one machine in its line at some point that was better than that of another brand. A big factor to brand loyalty could be what dealer is close by. Brand X may be right down the road from your farm and brand Y is forty miles away. As far as age, my newest tractor is 25 years old, and its my primary tillage tractor. The most handy tractor we have is any of our older (pre 1950) tractors. They are light and easy to manuever. Just some thoughts that I have.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
