I owned a Ford 3000 Diesel for many years. During cold weather I always put additive in the fuel tank to prevent the fuel from gelling. I also had a block heater on my tractor. Plug the block heater in for a few hours before you need to start the tractor and it will fire up like it was an 80 degree day. No reason to be scared of the diesel engine.
