I bought my first and only last spring. It's a '64 Massey Ferguson 35 Deluxe, Perkins diesel. I only have about 4 acres and was sure it was overkill, but with building projects and landscaping, keeping it mowed, planning to raise and harvest a little grass hay (thanks to a generous wheat farmer friend who gave me an excellent JD 214 baler), I'm delighted. My friend with an older tractor (don't know what brand, model, year, etc) that's got a lot less power, and another with an immaculately restored 8n drool over my MF because it's got that bit of extra power (MF35 diesel is about 37 hp) to make bush hogging and other stuff much faster and easier. In fact, the first guy borrows mine to mow his pasture. I couldn't be more pleased, and will never again think it was overkill for my needs.
