I presently own a 1987 GMC with 267,000 miles and have had no problem with the auto hubs. You have to maintain them just like any other part. Auto hubs don't like grease only use light oil and you have to take them out and clean them about every few years Lightly oil and replace and have had no problems. I have pulled hard with mine and wouldn't trade them for manuals unless I had them on a truck puller truck.
