Don't hold me to this but I believe around the first weekend in Oct. is when Ford transitioned from the 7.3 to the new 6.0. One of the International engine plants that makes these engines is close to where I live and I took a tour of the plant back in the late summer. These new 6.0's were rolling off the line then ready for shipment to Ford. They were slowly ramping up production at that time. Very interesting!
Also, don't be surprised when you see a new V6 dsl coming out in the Explorer's soon too!
