I had the usual non-functioning "automatic" hubs on my f150 I think "automatic" means they automatically fail in foul weather. Anyway, I replaced them with Mile-Marker manual hubs from JC Whitney $55/pair. Best money you'll spend on a 4wd truck. Takes about 1 hr to replace the first, 20 min. for the second. Note-- some vehicles (like the Explorer) require you to replace the splined axle shaft in the wheel hub which costs much more, though I doubt it is more than the original automatic lockout hubs. fwiw
