That is fairly low hours on a 400 series IH engine. Our 1086 had 7500 hours on it when we overhauled it, due to low oil pressure. It needed only bearings but we went all the way while we were in there. It is recommended to put in new rod and main bearings around 4000 hours, but most run 5000 or 6000. If it doesn't have a water filter, put one on it or change coolant every year. That engine will cavitate and destroy itself if the pH of the coolant is off. Rated at 133 hp on the PTO and 118 hp on the drawbar. However, our 1086 has the DT414 engine and is rated the same as yours, but puts out 150 on the PTO.
