I am getting sad this time of year. I won't be able to mow for four or five months. I LOVE mowing. I cut 5 acres with a 13 HP John Deere riding mower, every week during growing season. This is the area surronding the house and chicken shed. My chance to put on the ear protectors and space off. Takes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours depending on pit stops. Usually take off a couple hours early on Fridays to get it done for the weekend. Great stress releiver after a week at the office.
I also mow another 10 acres two or three times a year. These are pastures that could be hayed, but can't find anyone to do it. I REALLY LOVE mowing with the bush hog on our Jubilee. I am at the crossroads on these pastures. My wife wants some horses so they really would be pastures. If not, I will buy a finishing mower to hook up to the Julilee to really make the empire look like a golf course.
Grass cutting........love it.
