Depends,dont know waht your working on but if you have a 12 volt coil then why do you need a resistor.Alll my Farmalls have 12 volt coils and NO resistor at all and I havent had to change a set of points in a few YEARS!If burning of the points bothers you get a 12 volt coil with a BUILT IN resistor.Saves you some wirng and looks better!
