Al.........put the resistor BEFORE the ignition coil. Otherwize it'll muckup your LC time constant and burn out your points. LC time constant is a fancy way of saying the condenser value is choosen by the value of the coil primary inductance. Inductance is a property of all coils and is measured in Henrys (some old dead dude that discovered it) ........Dell
