My dad will own nothing but sears. He a 13HP bout 20 years ago, only problem ever is the 7 speed lost about 2 speeds, but still works great. This thing sit outside in rain and snow pretty much the whole time, and still looks good. He bought a little Deere SX75, that thing is complete garbage along with it's Kaw (I believe) motor. My mom just bought him a new Craftsman mower, and he is like a kid again on that thing. He still will not get rid of his old mower. So as far as sear's they have my complete seal of approval. That V-twin is a great mover. I have a 18HP V on an old MTD. The mower has issues, but the motor humms along great And I have ran than thing in 100+ heat with no oil in it. Wife did not check :>( I would definately not hesitate.
