After market tractor parts

I have a JD tractor and a JD disc. Here in So. Calif there are not a lot of independent tractor parts suppliers. We have mostly dealers. Is there a good supplier for JD parts other than the dealer? Are the after market parts any good if availavle? Should I just pay for genuine parts, and knowI have bought the best?
