One of my favorite tractors in your HP range would have to be an 1850 Oliver. I run the neighbors 986 and his 886 some and hate both of them, rough riding, rough shifting, and just not a lot of power for the mass of machine that they are. My 1850 diesel will pull with both of them, shift a lot smoother and easier, and rides very nice in the field. All tractors that old are going to have problems sooner or later, so find the ones that ride and pull good and that you like running. Just my 2 cents
