Absolutely right, G Taylor. My own grandfather was nearly killed by his JD "A" when he got off to clear some trash from the cultivator. He just pulled the clutch back, rather than putting the tractor in neutral and re-engaging the clutch like he should have. Something in the clutch broke and engaged it, which resulted in the tractor nearly running over him. Even he admits that he screwed up and should have known better. Just like guns and anything else you can think of, a tractor is only as safe as the person operating it.

Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed.
