A couple more reasons why narrow front wheels are angled to be closer together at the bottom:

1 - It reduces steering effort. And the closer the fronts are set, the less likely the steering wheel is to be suddently spun out of the operator's hands when one front tire hits an obstruction like a stone.

2 - By setting the fronts closer at the bottom, a stone that gets caught between the tires it will tend to be released as it's carried around and back up toward the lower bolster. This prevents possible tire sidewall damage were the stone to stay stuck between the tires and then strike the bolster.
