Not really, it took 8 tractors to do the job of several farm workers. Since it is a vegetable farm, there is an awful lot of farm labor involved, they probably had two dozen laborers working there a lot of times. I grew up on a potato and wheat farm in NoDak, and stopped by to visit this place one day (The Cubs had for sale signs and got me curious). A Japanese fellow, about 80 years old, gave me a tour. Absolutely fascinating. Very different from anything I had been involved in, but still sort of the same, in that every farmer, no matter his culture, background, size of farm or crop, faces the same problems, weeds, insects, weather and uncertain markets. His son ran the farm last year, this year the son decided to sell out and go to work for one of the major producers in this area, managing one of their vegetable operations for a salary.
