you should take in to account of how good of a mechanic you are these old tractors are just that old and they break sometimes. if you arent that good of a mecanic i would pick a brand that has a dealership in the area to take it to get fixed. I recomend a Ford 5000 good power fairly cheap power steering, 3 pt, live pto just stay away from the select-o-speed transmision they are good when properly taken care of but if abused, they aren't worth a darn
