I think you can find a tractor that will do the job in that price range. Maybe even have some left over. I use an Oliver 77 to bale about 30 acres of hay and also to hobby farm about 30 more acres. I paid $900. I think an Oliver 77 or 88 would be easy enough to find in your price range and they have live pto and live hydraulics. An Allis Chalmers WD or WD-45 would also be easy to find and they have the live pto also. Farmall 300-450 could be found in this range also. I would stay away from the H or M becuase they don't have a live pto. I would stay away from Fords becuase in my opinion they are expensive for the amount of power and work they can do. I have a 3 point hitch on 2 of my tractors and it is nice for a 3 point bush-hog but I really don't think a 3 point is necassary. Most pull type implements will do a nicer job, and are cheaper.
