Rearend Knock

Kubota 8200 has a knock in the rearend. Seems to slip a gog once in a while. Before I rip into this is this a backyard mechanic project or a pay to have done? What does it sound like may have happened? Anyone experienced this before?? Does it sound like ring gears. Anyone know where to get a used set?? Comments welcome!!
