To make it into a REAL adventure, you'll need to add a 15 year out of date atlas, bald tires, iffy brakes, a couple big dumb buddies, a REALLY big and just as dumb lab, the absolute cheapest come-along ever made, and enough beer to last the first 2000 miles (because that's all that would fit in the bed of the truck and still leave room for the second "helper" -- the dog rides standing on the driver's lap with his head out the window the whole way, of course!)

Trust me, that's the trip you'll still be telling stories about 40 years form now ;)
