Jerry, I have a '66 Ford 3000 (gas) and I recently swapped the rear tires (left on right, right on left) and got an additional 30 inches or so in the rear. I expanded the front out one position and now I can take this onto some of the more banked hills (still not going crazy.) Before this I had a smaller '88 MF. It was low to the ground, but I needed a bigger tractor. The guys who cut the hay have a MF which sits way low (don't know the model, or year.) I live in Eastern Kentucky where the terrain is NOT flat. Parts for this Ford are easy to find, and I find this tractor is very reliable (after an engine rebuild and new brakes.) I recently added front weights to keep the nose down when plowing and lifting. I have not been able to get ROP yet. The quote I got was over $900 +shipping. I have plans and materials for building one. I just need the welding equipment. Bottom line, with any tractor, if you feel uncomfortable, stop and get out of the situation. It ain't worth dying over.
