I have the same tractor and really like it. I think you would be better off either rebuilding the motor or going new. Your tractor is worth more than $1500 due to the size and options the GT 95 had to offer. Also does yours leak hyd fluid from the axles? Mine has 362hrs on it and leaks about a quart a week. The dealer wants $250 for replacement of axle seals and if it's not too tough I'd like to do it myself. Can't find a repair manual either on the internet. Any help would be great.
